Cenote Grande
The name says it all... Gran Cenote is considered one ofthe best for snorkeling, cave and cavern diving in the Mayan Riviera.
The cenote is part of the system of Sac Aktungwhich means white cave in Mayan. It is located along the highway to Coba just 4 km outside the city of Tulum. The cavern dive leads along the edge ofthe circular shaped cenote which has a maximum dept of 10 m. Perfect buoyancy is required as the cavern and cave passages are highly decorated. White walls, crystal clear waters, and the stunning formations await to hypnotize the diver.
Cave divers can explore varios routes inside the incredibly decorated cave. Snorkelers can view the formationslof the cave area from the surface. As Gran Cenote is situated far from Playa del Carmen it is usually combined with Angelita or Aktun Ha cenote.
